the struggle of deen & dunya

seek the eternal balance

salaam ‘ilm seeker,

Do you face a constant struggle between balancing the deen and dunya?

Where ‘ibadah (worship) and business are 2 separate worlds.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

One of the definition of deen (دين) is 'the way of life'.

Anything that we do while being conscious of Allah swt counts under deen.

Even business.

As muslims, we must stop thinking of our deen as only salah, quran, dhikr.

We must understand that any action we do can be a form of worship.

Let me explain…

Sleeping? → “O Allah, I am resting so I have the energy to worship you better”

Eating? → “O Allah, I am taking care of the amanah (trust) you gave me. Alhamdulillah for granting me rizq.

Spending time with friends & family? → “O Allah, You taught me the importance of kinship and good company. Allow us to be reunited in jannah”.

Working? → “O Allah, I’m seeking rizq from You so I can spend in Your way & take care of my family

Do you see the mindset shift?

The Prophet ﷺ said, "Actions are according to intentions, and everyone will get what was intended." (Sahih Bukhari)
